Bahnstrecke Jülich-Düren-Heimbach WDR 30.10.1986

Report by Kölner Fenster, moderator Michael Wortmann. As reported here, the Jülich-Düren-Heimbach railway line was threatened with closure in the 1980s. Even then, the Düren District Railway wanted to take over the line, but was only able to acquire it from the German Federal Railway in 1992 for the symbolic price of 1 Deutsche Mark. Today, it is successfully operated by the Rurtalbahn and is considered a prime example of successful regionalization nationwide. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahnstr...
