Another day and yet another sad performance of a Wing Chun fighter. This time it's against a BJJ student. It's over fast and in this video we break down why this keeps happening and what to do about it. In short, too many in Wing Chun believe that the techniques will fight for us. We're led to believe that getting the technique right is the main thing and that pressure drills like sparring are unnecessary. But if that's the case, why did Ip Man's student back in the 50's always go out and challenge themselves in those famous rooftop fights? You see, if you've never been in sparring or fighting, sparring is the safest and best way to get real experience. So, yes, we keep the forms and the primary drills. We don't dismantle Wing Chun.
