Every resident of the village of Lukashivka in Chernihiv oblast starts his or her story about the war from the morning of March 9, 2022, when the village started to be heavily shelled and the Russians invaded it. The occupants knew how many people lived in each cellar, and during the shelling they went there themselves to hide. In the center of the village stood the Church of the Resurrection, a monument of the 18th century. The Russian troops set up an ammunition depot and a field hospital there. The church also became a place for interrogation of civilian Ukrainians and Ukrainian soldiers. In the end, the Ukrainian armed forces blew up the church - the facades, roof and interior of the monument were damaged. At the end of March, the occupants left the village. Local residents describe how people lived during the 23 days of occupation and what the occupants did to the village. April 2022.
