Jaguar XF Coolant Leak Fix: Replacing the Water Outlet (2.7 & 3.0 Diesel)

In this episode of Projects in the Barn, I’m tackling a common and potentially engine-killing issue on the Jaguar XF: a coolant leak from the plastic water outlet manifold. After smelling burning coolant on a recent test drive, I discovered the leak sitting right in the "V" of the engine. Today, I’m replacing the old, degraded plastic part with a brand new genuine Jaguar water outlet (Part No: JD38234). Along the way, I discover just how gummed up the throttle body and intake manifolds can get from the EGR system—wait until you see the carbon buildup I found! In this video, I walk you through: Diagnosis: Identifying the smell of burning coolant and finding the source. Saving Money: Using a syringe to drain and reuse clean coolant. The Tear Down: Removing the air duct, throttle body, and EGR pipework to gain access. Surprise Discovery: Cleaning out thick carbon "gunk" from the intake (an accidental performance boost!). Installation: Swapping the old manifold for the new one and replacing O-rings. Bleeding the System: Tips on how to get air out of the Jaguar XF cooling system. If you own a Jaguar XF with the 2.7D or 3.0D engine, this is a job you’ll likely face eventually. It’s just "nuts and bolts," and I’ll show you that you can definitely do it yourself at home! Part Used: Genuine Jaguar Water Outlet (JD38234) Buy it here: https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.... Support the channel: If this guide helped you, please give it a 👍 THUMBS UP and SUBSCRIBE to join the gang!
