12 pumps called to Significant fire at industrial Estate Firefighters remain on scene at the fire in #Langar, with the number of resources now beginning to scale down. At the height of the response 12 fire engines and special appliances were sent to the scene. #Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have said “This is a fire involving large amounts of scrap metal. Crews have been working hard all afternoon, in extreme heat, and we expect to be here for some time. “A High Volume Pump (HVP), Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) and a further four fire engines will remain in attendance, with crews continuing to work throughout the night to fully extinguish the fire. “While crews have made good progress, the fire is still producing a large volume of smoke. Residents in the local area are advised to continue to keep windows and doors closed. “Thank you for your patience whilst we've been dealing with this incident.” 📷 Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Update 7.30AM: Four fire engines remain at the scene in Langar, where crews will continue working hard today to fully extinguish the fire. Firefighters will also be working with the site owners, using on-site machinery to separate the scrap metal and help tackle remaining hotspots.
