TRES PATINES... Más Vivo Que Nunca‼️Historias Vivas (The Podcast)

The man who, from Cuba, brought laughter to all of Latin America, from his beginnings to this day... How wonderful it was to delve into the magical world of this endearing character!... Leopoldo Augusto Fernández Salgado (Jagüey Grande, Matanzas, December 26, 1904 – Miami, November 11, 1985), known artistically as Pototo and universally as Tres Patines, was a legendary Cuban actor and comedian, considered one of the most influential Spanish-speaking humorists of the 20th century. His fame was cemented as the creator and performer of the character José Candelario, Tres Patines, on the radio program La Tremenda Corte, whose success endures to this day. Biography Early Years and Rise to Fame in Cuba Born in Jagüey Grande, Matanzas, and raised in Güines, Fernández came from humble beginnings. The son of a tobacco worker, he left his studies and a job as a telegraph operator to dedicate himself to theater in 1926, founding his own company. During the 1930s, he established himself in the Cuban theater circuit. Massive stardom arrived in the early 1940s when the radio station Cadena Azul hired him and Aníbal de Mar to create a program to compete with the hits of the time. The Spanish writer Cástor Vispo was in charge of creating the scripts and characters for La Tremenda Corte. The program's success was immediate and overwhelming. Fernández confessed that many of the characters were inspired by archetypes and real people from Cuban life, which gave the program a unique authenticity. At the same time, he developed a successful theater career with his character Pototo, forming an iconic duo with the actress Mimí Cal (who played Nananina and was his wife for a time). He also ventured into film and music, recording several comedy albums. Made by LUJOLANT 2026, USA Living Stories, The Podcast. Subscribe, Like, Share... Support us!!! THANK YOU!
