Before use, Amoxiclav tablets are dissolved in half a glass of water (at least 100 ml). The resulting suspension is then thoroughly mixed or the tablets are chewed before swallowing. They are prescribed orally for children weighing 40 kg or more, as well as for adults. The average daily dosage is 375 mg (1 tablet) every 8 hours (3 times a day); or 625 mg (1 tablet) 2-3 times a day (depending on the severity of the infection). Amoxiclav 2X tablets are prescribed only for adult patients with severe respiratory diseases or severe infections. 1000 mg (1 tablet) is taken twice daily. The maximum daily dosage for adults is 6000 mg of amoxicillin. The maximum daily dose of clavulanic acid in the form of potassium salt is 600 mg. For children aged 3 months to 3 months, the recommended dose is 30 mg/kg/day (equivalent to amoxicillin), divided equally and administered at equal intervals. Amoxiclav is prescribed for children aged 3 months or older or weighing less than 40 kg at a dose of 25 mg/kg/day (divided into 2 doses every 12 hours); or 20 mg/kg/day (divided into 3 doses every 8 hours) for moderate infections. For severe infections, Amoxiclav is administered at a dose of 45 mg/kg/day (divided into 2 doses every 12 hours); or 40 mg/kg/day (divided into 3 doses every 8 hours). The maximum daily dose for children is 45 mg per 1 kg of body weight. The maximum daily dose of clavulanic acid in the form of potassium salt is 10 mg per kg of body weight. For moderate infections, the daily dose is 25 mg/kg every 12 hours (based on amoxicillin). For lower respiratory tract infections, sinusitis, otitis, and other severe infections, Amoxiclav is prescribed to children at a dose of 45 mg/kg/day of amoxicillin every 12 hours. In cases of renal impairment with a creatinine clearance of 10 ml/min or less, the Amoxiclav dosage is adjusted or the dosing interval is increased. In cases of anuria, the dosing interval may be 48 hours. For creatinine clearance of 80 ml/min or more, the interval between Amoxiclav doses is 8 hours; for clearance of 80–50 ml/min, the interval is 8 hours; for clearance of 50–10 ml/min, the interval is 12 hours; and for clearance of 10 ml/min or less, the interval is 24 hours. The exact dose of Amoxiclav suspension for pediatric patients is calculated based solely on body weight. Before preparing the suspension, shake the vial thoroughly until any powder particles are released from the bottom and sides of the vial. Add 86 ml of water to the vial in 2 divided doses, shaking the vial thoroughly after each addition.
