Vivian in the Middle School Spelling Bee. 01/08/2026

18 best spellers (six from each grade 6-8 level) were selected through two preliminary Spelling Bees from about 900 students at Woodbury Middle School to compete in the school's spelling bee championship. Vivian, grade 6, failed in round 4 (32:05), when there were only six students left. In this round, three students, including Vivian, were eliminated. The remaining three students, the top three, proceeded to round 5. The eventual (and repeated) winner had made it to the NH State Spelling Bee Championship last year and finished near the top. The event started at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the Woodbury school cafeteria.
