The Gopis are fascinated and they are not aware of anything else. But can you make music if the flute was solid or if it is filled with muck or mud? No. So the instrument, for the music to come through, even if He is trying hard to play it, has to be clear of ego and has to be empty. If the flute or the mind is emptied of all dross and all the pretensions, prejudices, greed, anger and so on, then you have an instrument through which the Lord can play.
