JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - The alleged corruption case in the Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) Program has entered a new phase after one of the suspects, Sony Sonjaya, volunteered to the Attorney General's Office as a justice collaborator. Through his attorney, Krisna Murti, Sony stated his readiness to assist investigators in uncovering facts that he believes have not yet been revealed in the case. Krisna explained that there are two clusters of cases implicating his client. According to Krisna, Sony's desire to become a justice collaborator arose because he felt he had important information regarding both clusters. Regarding the alleged procurement irregularities, Krisna cited his client's statement. Furthermore, Sony also claimed knowledge of practices related to the granting of MBG kitchen points to certain parties. According to Sony's explanation, delivered through his attorney, these parties came with foundations to apply for MBG kitchen points. However, after obtaining the points, some were allegedly resold. Krisna stated that his client objected to the growing narrative that he was the main perpetrator of the MBG point buying and selling practice. Sony even denied ever receiving any profit from the practice. When asked whether any funds flowed to Sony from the practice, Krisna stated that his client firmly denied it. "He said 1 million percent, he never received any money or sold any points (SPPG)," he said. What attracted the most attention was the claim that dozens of names were said to have knowledge of or were connected to the practice. Krisna confirmed that a list of 26 names, including several organizations, had been submitted during the investigation.
