"Héros de l’ombre" combattante de la France libre : Catherine Dior
Ginette Dior, known as Catherine Dior, was born in Granville in 1917. The younger sister of the renowned couturier Christian Dior, she joined the Franco-Polish resistance network F2 in 1943. Arrested by the Gestapo a year later in Paris, she was tortured but did not break. Deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp in Germany, she narrowly escaped liberation.
