Award-winning writer Tom King (Batman, Supergirl, etc) on storytelling, breaking into comics & more

Eisner, Ringo, and Harvey award -winning and New York Times best selling writer Tom King, is also a key part of the cinematic era dawning at the new DC Studios, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. 2026 will see the premiere the HBO show Lanterns which Tom co-wrote with Damon Lindelof ("Lost", HBO's "Watchmen"," The Leftovers"). The upcoming "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow " film is based on his highly acclaimed series of the same name. Sony Pictures is also adapting Tom's "Love Everlasting" comic series (a collaboration with artist Elsa Charretier) into a film directed by Lenny Abrahamson ( Room, Normal People). His other celebrated comics work includes Helen of Wyndthorn, Mister Miracle, Batman, The Vision, The Sheriff of Babylon, Strange Adventures, The Human Target, Superman Up in the Sky, Black Canary, Animal Pound and many others. In this wide-ranging conversation Tom talks to writer-director ‪@AndresUseche1‬ about his origins, his stint interning for Marvel, and his path into the industry.
