Cycling along the Zuiderzee Route is like living in Holland. We've seen this for ourselves many times. The train reliably takes us from Venlo to Amsterdam. There, we leave the city heading northeast. After just a few kilometers, the Nieuwendam district surprises us with its historic wooden facades and beautifully situated marina. A must-stop here is the Palingroker, a harbinger of old fishing traditions. In Volendam, Dutch people in costume celebrate a fair with lively music and delicious beers, like Carnival in summer.
