🌵25 a 27% Proteína para Ganado con Nopal Atlixco (Parte 2)

Today we follow the planting of the Atlixco cactus as a forage cactus for ruminants, using solid-state fermentation, popularly known as cactus soup, which generates a high quantity and quality of protein for ruminant fattening. In part 1 of this video, we talked about the planting of this "Atlixco" variety, a dual-purpose cactus (for vegetables and/or forage), which is the variety that has worked best for us in the diverse soil types and climates of Mexico. In South America, cactus as forage is used in countries like Argentina and Brazil under the names tuna forrajera and palma forrageira. In Spain and some other countries, the cactus is known as Chumbera and the prickly pear as Higo Chumbo.
