PALACIO DE LA ALJAFERÍA [ZARAGOZA] アルハフェリア宮殿 (

THE ALJAFERÍA: A MUST-SEE! On our trip to Zaragoza, we visited a World Heritage Site: THE ALJAFERÍA PALACE. A fortified palace built in Zaragoza in the second half of the 11th century at the initiative of al-Muqtádir as a residence for the Hudid kings of Saraqusta. This pleasure palace (called the 'Palace of Joy') reflects the splendor achieved by the Taifa kingdom during its period of greatest political and cultural apogee. Its importance lies in the fact that it is the only preserved example of a large building of Hispano-Muslim art from the Taifa period. In fact, this architecture finds its artistic precedents in the Syrian-Umayyad palaces of the desert. The layout of the Islamic construction was a fortified enclosure reinforced by sixteen semicircular towers, with a rectangular floor plan. This fortified character served not only as a defense but also to define two clearly differentiated worlds: the secular and humble exterior, and the refined and refined interior. THE TROUBADOUR'S TOWER The oldest building in the Aljafería Palace is the so-called "Troubadour's Tower," which received its name from Antonio García Gutiérrez's romantic drama, El trovador (The Troubadour), from 1836. This drama was adapted into the libretto for Giuseppe Verdi's opera Il trovatore, from 1853. #5minutewalkingtrips #Zaragoza #zaragozatourism #aljaferia #laaljaferia #cortesdearagon #worldheritagesite
