With up to nearly 500 miles of estimated driving range, the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV makes charging-free road trips a real possibility. We put this big, heavy full-size pickup truck to the test on a roughly 460-mile road trip to see whether we could make it the whole way without stopping to charge. We don’t like DC fast charging on road trips for a number of reasons (slow chargers, broken chargers and inconvenient charger locations, just to name a few), but you might not have to stop and charge if you’re driving a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss; when equipped with its available Max battery, Chevrolet says the truck offers a mighty-impressive 478 miles of range.
