10-mal auf Phuket – aber das kennst du nicht!

Today I'm taking you along on another typical day in my life on Phuket – and this everyday life is often more exciting than any tourist attraction. The day begins with a problem with my Jeep. The leaf springs have been squeaking for a while now. So I drive to the Shell garage, hoping the problem will be fixed quickly. But even after more than an hour, the mechanics can't get rid of the squeaking. So I call Jimmy. He comes over, takes a look, and finds the cause. A few minutes later, the problem is finally solved. After that, it's off to the garage to see my VW bus. After what feels like forever, the project is finally nearing completion. I'll show you the current status and I'm curious to see how much longer it will actually take until the bus is back on the road. Then Jimmy and Big Boss show me their own personal Phuket. Not the typical tourist attractions, but hidden corners of Phuket Town where almost exclusively locals hang out. It's precisely these kinds of places that make this island so special to me. Afterwards, Jimmy and Big Boss show me their own personal Phuket. Of course, good food is a must. We stop at a restaurant frequented mainly by locals. Not a tourist trap, but authentic Thai food – just the way I like it. Later, I head back to my boat. During the rainy season, the wind and waves can get very strong here in a very short time. To prevent the hull from hitting the dock and getting damaged in storms and rough seas, I've fitted old motorcycle tires as extra protection. To end the day, I meet up with Mehmet for dinner.
