Area of a Circular Segment - Subtracting Area of Triangle from Area of Sector - IB Maths
We learn how to calculate the area of a circular segment by working through a past paper question on Circular Sectors. The method can be summarised in 2 steps: Calculate the area of the sector calculate the area of the triangle, which fits inside the sector subtract the area of the triangle from the area of the sector : that's the area of the segment. This is appropriate for both IGCSE and IB Mathematics as well as numerous other courses on mensuration and geometry.
