[作画 MAD/AMV] Tatsuyuki Tanaka (田中達之) Sakuga

Super Animator: Tatsuyuki Tanaka (田中達之) Tanaka started in the industry by joining Telecom at the age of 18, as he was a fan of Miyazaki, who was part of the studio. However, Tanaka was fired. He subsequently joined the Royal Space Force production, but ended up resigning after a week, leaving his animator job and starting manga publication. The animator Kazuyoshi Yaginuma convinced him to participate in Akira, being his debut as a Key Animator, showing an impressive ability to perform Background Animation and Character Animation, also noted for animating Tetsuo's mutated arm, for which he performed Frame Modulation, getting to do Full Animation Having participated in Akira under the supervision of Takashi Nakamura, Tanaka worked hand in hand with the Realistic School to later be one of its greatest exponents, working under the designs of Nakamura and his followers on some occasions. He was probably influenced by Long Life To The Ancestors, which encouraged dynamic movement and expressiveness for the characters with a fairly simple design (they looked like puppets!) and right after this project his style changed to something more similar to what Mitsuo Iso managed during Long Life To The Ancestors, doing many frame modulations freely, moving the characters in their entirety and also implementing certain smears when a part of the characters was very close to the screen. Later he participated in Twilight Gekijou under the photorealistic designs of Shinya Oohira, being full of details with which Tanaka had to work, doing an impressive job with a great performance of characters with simulation of weight, impact, reactive movements of the fabric and the hair, in addition to working in very complex angles He worked for a long time in collaboration with Kouji Morimoto and Studio 4C, not only as an Animator, but also as a Director, Character Designer, Storyboarder, and Animation Director. Tanaka's designs are quite unique, featuring characters with fairly realistic anatomies, full-contour beady eyes, rounded noses, and very well-defined mouths. When he designs mechanical elements, they tend to be excessively detailed. His style is defined by a perfectly well-crafted Character Acting, being able to go from puppet-like movements and then take the realistic approach with all the physics that goes along with it applied not only to the characters' bodies, but also to clothing, hair, and accessories. He also has a strong sense of three-dimensional depth, bringing objects or characters' body parts very close to the screen, generally implementing smears to enhance speed but also demonstrating that he can maintain shapes even from complex perspectives. He has shown to have very high abilities when animating Backgrounds, being able to make non-linear zooms (remember that there is no real camera, so the movement of things simulates the movement of the fictitious camera) with which he maintains perfect consistency. This is also reflected in the Mechanical Animation; although it is not common for him to work animating that, there are short examples in which the vehicles present a perfect consistency, dynamism in their movement and a perfect integration with the background animation (he even animates shadows of background elements on the vehicles!) Sakuga (作画) literally means drawing. It is not something specific like "super spectacular animation", but the term is used to define a well animated sequence and that's it, good animation. Animation is fundamentally movement, so a sequence with good movement is already good animation, the effects and uses of cinematography are only added to the base.
