He has had a long and successful career, collaborating with various artists over the years. One of his most notable collaborations was with the legendary music artist Prince. In this report, we will take a closer look at Alexander O'Neal's experience working with Prince. Early Collaborations Alexander O'Neal first worked with Prince in the late 1970s, when he served as a backing vocalist for Prince's band, Grand Central. He later joined Prince's band, The Time, as a lead vocalist, but left the group before they released their debut album. In the early 1980s, O'Neal signed a record deal with Tabu Records, where he met Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who had just left The Time to pursue a career as producers. Jam and Lewis had also worked with Prince in the past and were able to facilitate a collaboration between O'Neal and Prince. Collaboration on "The Time" Prince wrote several songs for O'Neal's second album, "Hearsay", which was released in 1987. He also co-wrote and produced the song "The Time" for the album. The song was a tribute to Prince's former band, The Time, and featured members of the group on backing vocals. Collaboration on "The Batman" Soundtrack In 1989, Prince was commissioned to produce the soundtrack for the movie "Batman". He invited O'Neal to collaborate with him on the track "The Arms of Orion", which was included on the soundtrack. Collaboration on "My Gift to You" In 1988, Alexander O'Neal released a Christmas album titled "My Gift to You", which included the song "Our First Christmas". The song was co-written by Prince and was produced by him as well. Ongoing Friendship and Collaboration Throughout the years, Alexander O'Neal and Prince maintained a friendship and continued to collaborate on music. In 1990, O'Neal released his album "All True Man", which included the song "What Is This Thing Called Love?", which was co-written by Prince. In addition to collaborating on music, O'Neal has spoken publicly about his admiration for Prince's talent and the impact that he had on the music industry. Following Prince's death in 2016, O'Neal paid tribute to him on social media, saying, "Prince was not only a friend but a mentor to me. He gave me the opportunity to work with him and taught me so much about music and life. I will always be grateful for that." Conclusion Alexander O'Neal and Prince had a long and fruitful collaboration over the years. Prince's influence can be heard in many of O'Neal's songs, and their mutual respect for each other's talent is evident in their work together. Despite Prince's untimely death, O'Neal continues to carry on his legacy and remains an important figure in the R&B and soul music scene. 🔴 Subscribe for more Celebrity Interviews and Comedy Clips - https://www.youtube.com/kevindurham?s... 🔴 Share this video with a YouTube Friend    • Alexander O'Neal and Prince  🔴 The service I used to get this video ranked so you would see it. https://www.tubebuddy.com/kevindurham 🔴 Click on the link below for tickets to Alexander O'Neal's next show https://ticketmaster-uk.tm8534.net/X5L2o 🔴 Click on the link below for a digital download of the best of Alexander O'Neal https://amzn.to/2Vl3TQF 🔴 Other videos Alexander O'Neal on what it was like growing up in the south in the 50s    • Video  Alexander o'Neal on his drug addiction    • Alexander O'Neal Interview - Drug Addiction  Alexander O'Neal 'White America Took America Back Again'    • Alexander O'Neal White America Took Americ...  ✅ Recommended playlists: Alexander O'Neal Interview Clips https://www.youtube.comhttps://www.yo... ✅ Check out more about me and what I do https://www.kevindurham.com/ ✅ Follow me Instagram -   / thekevindurham  Twitter -   / thekevindurham  Facebook -   / thekevindurham  Disclaimer: Some of these links go to one of my websites and some are affiliate links where I'll earn a small commission if you make a purchase at no additional cost to you.
