Alexander O'Neal is a talented R&B singer and songwriter who first gained attention in the late 1980s with his smooth voice and soulful sound. He has had a long and successful career, collaborating with various artists over the years. One of his most notable collaborations was with the legendary music artist Prince. Early Collaborations Alexander O'Neal first worked with Prince in the late 1970s, when he served as a backing vocalist for Prince's band, Grand Central. Collaboration on "My Gift to You" In 1988, Alexander O'Neal released a Christmas album titled "My Gift to You", which included the song "Our First Christmas". The song was co-written by Prince and was produced by him as well. Ongoing Friendship and Collaboration Throughout the years, Alexander O'Neal and Prince maintained a friendship and continued to collaborate on music. In 1990, O'Neal released his album "All True Man", which included the song "What Is This Thing Called Love?", which was co-written by Prince. In addition to collaborating on music, O'Neal has spoken publicly about his admiration for Prince's talent and the impact that he had on the music industry. Following Prince's death in 2016, O'Neal paid tribute to him on social media, saying, "Prince was not only a friend but a mentor to me.
