Woodbridge is a real marvel situated on the River Deben. It is a vibrant and beautiful market town and its port was famous for shipbuilding and sail-making - the town lies on the River Deben estuary, which is about 10 miles from the North Sea. Tide Mill, one of only 2 remaining tide mills in Britain, is found on the River Deben. Next to Woodbridge across the river is Sutton Hoo. It is the site where the burial ground of King Raedwald of East Anglia was discovered in 1938 by archaeologists. This is one of the most important archaeological finds in Britain's history and there is a brilliant film "Dig" available on Netflix which tells this story. To get to Woodbridge, take a train from London Liverpool St, it is about 1hr 30 minutes with 1 change at Ipswich.
