Strong and Courageous - Make a Choice

Joshua 24:14-22 Make a choice "Choose you this day who you will serve..." Every man serves something Three options outlined in this scripture 1) the gods of the past "the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates" God led the Israelites out of Egypt and into the desert. He took the Israelites out of Egypt, but he needed to get Egypt out of the Israelites. We need to give up on habits and sins that are generational 2) the gods of the culture "the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living..." 3) The Living God "Now great the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness... and serve the Lord..." A Godly man takes a stand "But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" He doesn't wait for his household to make the decision. Judges 2:10 "After the whole generation gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel" Choose resolutely. Count the cost. Luke 14:33 "Those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples"
