Welcome to Barbados Cruise Port, officially called Bridgetown Harbour Cruise Pier. Learn how to get to the cruise terminal port building once your cruise ship arrives at the port of call. If you are docked on the far dock, you may take a free bus ride or you may walk the approximated 10-minute walking path along the side of the bus route. The cruise terminal is located about a mile west of downtown Bridgetown, Parish of Saint Michael, Barbados and offers modern facilities, easy access to attractions, and multiple transportation options. The cruise terminal building offers plenty of duty free and tax-free shopping with a variety of shops along with free wi-fi internet for cruise passengers. The Bridgetown Barbados Cruise port offers an area to meet pre-planned excursion and tour services as well as a taxi area with multiple taxis available and ready to take you to your desired destination whether it be on a private or group tour of the city or to a particular beach or downtown location. We chose a group tour with the Bridgetown Taxi Tour guide Anthony where we shared a tour van taxi with 2 other couples for a total of 6 passengers in a very nice, clean, air-conditioned van. Anthony showed us several highlights of the west coast of the city of Bridgetown such as the government buildings; Rihanna's childhood home in Rihanna Village on Rihanna Drive as well as her current mansion on Sandy Lane near the prestigious Sandy Lane Hotel; St. James Parish Church, the oldest church in Barbados and its stunning architectural beauty; a couple local beaches at Fitts Village and Paynes Bay Beach; shopping areas with street vendors and produce markets; and a couple local grocery and convenience stores. We enjoyed exploring and learning a little about the country and history of Barbados.
