Protecting My Succulents From the Summer Sun
September is probably the hottest month here in San Diego. These Mexican Snowball echeveria elegans are suffering in their current location in the garden. I can tell because the plant is closing up, using its under leaves to protect the tender new growth inside. The leaves are also crunchy and sunburnt. To give the Mexican snowball a better chance, I simply uprooted the plant and moved it under my pergola. If there is a succulent in your garden that is showing signs of distress, do it a favor and find a better protected home. Happy gardening!
