This competition is organized by the National Center for Presence of Numbers (Puspresnas). This competition consists of several stages, starting at the city, provincial, and national levels. There are eight subjects eligible for high school students: biology, chemistry, physics, geography, earth science, economics, computer science/informatics, and mathematics. The top-performing participants will then be invited to participate in the next stage. Winners of the National Science Olympiad will receive scholarships and other prizes, and they may also have the opportunity to represent Indonesia in international science competitions. National Science Olympiad participants who qualify at the district/city level (OSN-K) will advance to the provincial level (OSN-P), and then the selected OSN-P winners will advance to the national level (OSN).
