Floating Goats' Teeth Part 1

#thegoatguy #packgoats #merciless Marc Warnke, "The Goat Guy" at Packgoats.com. Part of pioneering the world of goats is health, wellness, and longevity. Marc has been experimenting with increasing the packing life of his goats by occasionally floating their teeth. A common practice with horses but not for goats. A goat's lifespan is limited by its ability to digest food properly. Being ruminants, the ability to chew the cud is vital to their ability to absorb nutrients. Over time, with repetitive chewing, goats' teeth from sharp high ridges limit the effectiveness of their chewing. Floating teeth is the process of removing the high, sharp points and restoring a more natural chewing surface. Floating goats' teeth may be the gateway to increased longevity and vigor. This goat, Merciless, was given a light sedative prior to this procedure and was then given the reversal to come out of it. So far, Marc's oldest pack goat is 11 years old and still leads the string.
