I don't think this song is really about paper crowns. It's about the things we spend years chasing. The goals. The expectations. The versions of ourselves we try so hard to become. For a long time, those things can feel important. Sometimes they feel like everything. Then life happens. People change. Dreams change. You reach places you once thought would make you happy, only to discover you're still asking the same questions. Was it worth it? Would you do it again? I don't know. Maybe that's why I wrote this song. Not because I have answers, but because I think a lot of us eventually stand in front of the mirror and realize how temporary so many things are. The crowns were paper. The rain always comes. And yet we keep moving forward.
