playa de la puntilla - el puerto de santa maria

La Puntilla beach is located in El Puerto de Santa María on the right bank of the Guadalete River estuary. https://queverencadiz.com/el-puerto-d... It is 800 meters long and very wide, with a large sandy area adorned with numerous palm trees. It is the most popular beach among the residents of El Puerto because it is the closest to the city center and several neighborhoods border it, making it very busy during the summer months with locals and few foreign tourists. Regarding waves, there are hardly any because it is a very sheltered beach, being located inside the Bay of Cádiz. It also has breakwaters that protect it from currents, such as the Puerto Sherry breakwater and the one that separates the river mouth from the beach. The water at La Puntilla beach, being next to the Guadalete River, isn't crystal clear, as the river carries sediment, but it's warm and, as we mentioned, calm, so many swimmers use it for open water swimming. It's an ideal place to practice sports on the golden sand of the beach without disturbing others, due to its spaciousness and the distance between the shore and the promenade that surrounds it. Crossing the promenade street, you'll find the Las Dunas campsite. Next to the river, on the left side of the beach, there's a large parking area in two sections, one of them better equipped than the other. Near the beach is a large pine forest with picnic tables where you can find shade and rest from the sun. There are also beach bars open year-round where you can enjoy delicious fried fish while watching beautiful sunsets or admiring the city of Cádiz in the distance. music: kevin mcleod -life of riley - http://incompetech.com
