What is ALS? What are the symptoms of ALS? The Ice Bucket Challenge made its way through social media in the summer of 2014. The purpose of this fundraising campaign was to raise awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. But what is ALS, and where does it come from? Is it common, and can it be cured? Do all patients' symptoms resemble those of the famous astrophysicist Stephen Hawking? I'd like to explain all of this to you in this video, along with expert Dr. Patrick Weydt, dedicated ALS patient Bruno Schmidt, and famous racing cyclist André Greipel.
