Unlocking MG mechanisms through protein structures

Join Colleen Noviello, Project Scientist at the University of California- San Diego and her team as they discuss the protein structures in MG. We have used high-resolution 3D imaging to create the first detailed map of the human muscle receptor, revealing exactly how "rogue" antibodies attach to and disable it in Myasthenia Gravis. By identifying the specific ways these antibodies block signals or trigger immune damage, the study explains why the disease varies so much between individuals. These findings pave the way for personalized treatments that can be tailored to a patient’s specific antibody profile rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
