Beto was abandoned at a children's home when he was 15 days old. At five, he was adopted by a couple who abused him for a year, more than just physically. For a year and three months, he witnessed the murder of his nine-year-old girlfriend and many other children who couldn't withstand the training. Today, he has been in prison for 18 years and reflects on the harm he caused, the voids that can never be filled, and how abandonment and systematic violence led him down a path of no return. This testimony confronts us with the consequences of institutional neglect and the normalization of violence in Mexico.
