Routeburn Track Day 1 — Routeburn Shelter to Routeburn Falls Hut

Day 1 of our walk on the Routeburn Track — one of New Zealand's Great Walks — from the Routeburn Shelter to Routeburn Falls Hut. A beautiful introduction to one of the finest alpine tracks in the South Island. --- ABOUT THE TRACK The Routeburn Track is a 33 km Great Walk through Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks, connecting the Routeburn Shelter near Glenorchy to The Divide on the Milford Highway. It crosses the Harris Saddle at 1,255 metres — the highest point on the track — with sweeping views of the Darran Mountains and the Hollyford Valley.
