Whiteford Lighthouse | Exploring one of the Gower Peninsulas hidden gems
A short walk vlog exploring the wonderful Whiteford lighthouse, within which I explain where to park and how's best to reach it. The 44ft lighthouse is situated on the northern tip of the Gower Peninsula and is the only remaining cast iron, wave swept lighthouse left in the UK. Access is via a three mile walk (one way) through Whiteford Burrows and across Whiteford Sands. The base of the lighthouse is only reachable around 90 minutes either side of low tide so aim to reach the base as the tide is going out. Parking is available in small farmers field between Llanmaddoc and Cwm Ivy coffee shop. - https://goo.gl/maps/vCqJJXSZptRCT6fa9 In total the hike is around 6.5 miles and should take around 2.5 - 3 hours.
