Troubled Soul is without a doubt our darkest song on our new album, Better Days. The feeling of the album is hopeful, joyous, and happy. But this song in particular came so easily and just kind of put itself together that it was a no brainer to put it on the album. Although it is a “dark” song we feel that there is a glimmer of hope in it, especially in the choruses. Between the three of us this our favorite track on the album. The music video was a whole different story from the track. Yes the idea of the music video came to us pretty quickly, but the execution of that idea was a nightmare. Turns out that building your own pool doesn’t come easily. We tried and completely failed to make a pool that wouldn’t leak a mistake that cost us over a thousand dollars. It’s not every day you get to make a thousand dollar mistake. But that’s were you learn the most, through your mistakes. We persevered and collected our pennies together to give it another try and thankfully it all worked out. If you haven’t seen our video “Feel that Fire” you should go watch it. Troubled Soul is a prequel to Feel that Fire. It explains how the book made it to the desert and what is in the book. We originally didn’t have the idea to connect the two videos but Feel that Fire didn’t really have an explanation so we thought it would be fun to connect the two video and give some answers to some questions people might have. Our next video, “Better Days,” will also be connected to Feel that Fire and Troubled Soul. That video will come out when the album is released on May 1st. Although it was not originally intended, we ended up making a trilogy for you guys. It was really fun figuring out the story lines so they make some sense. We hope you all enjoy!
