MAXKGO 14S 100A ESC Review and Setup | AM32 Open Source Power for Fixed Wing Aircraft

Today I take a detailed look at the new MAXKGO 14S 100A AM32 ESC and evaluate whether it could be a viable alternative for high voltage fixed-wing aircraft, UAVs, and other large RC applications. This ESC is designed for 5S to 14S operation and targets heavy lift drones, agricultural UAVs, fixed-wing aircraft, robotics, and high power RC vehicles. Unlike many traditional ESCs, this unit uses the open-source AM32 firmware which provides a large amount of flexibility and configuration options. Get yours here! https://maxkgo.com/?ref=rtfvzhkt In this video I cover: • Unboxing and first impressions • ESC wiring and layout • Battery and motor connections • Signal, ground and telemetry wiring • Fabrication and soldering process • Wire gauge selection for high current applications • Installation of an external BEC for OPTO operation • AM32 configurator setup and programming • Timing, PWM frequency and startup settings • Throttle calibration procedure • Installation into a fixed-wing aircraft • Initial testing and preparation for flight evaluation The ESC supports telemetry including: Battery Voltage Current Draw ESC Temperature Motor RPM Protection features include: Low voltage protection Over temperature protection Motor stall protection Locked rotor protection For this installation I configured the ESC for a Turnigy Aerodrive 500KV motor using: 15 degree timing 24kHz PWM frequency 14 motor poles Sinusoidal startup enabled Brake disabled Servo PWM protocol The real test will be in-flight performance, current handling, efficiency, and temperature management during fixed-wing operation.
