Wheeling a Land Cruiser on 74 Weld Portals without Armor

Got a new Land Cruiser 250? You should put 74Weld portals on it if you're going to take it off-roading. This is the LC 250 demo vehicle for Stapp Interstate Toyota in Colorado. Steve, their GM, is an experienced offroad driver and just a solid human as well. We built this LC250 with 74Weld portals, Kings, New Method 709 wheels, 38 inch Nittos, ARB front locker and onboard air, new rear links, cam tab gussets, a hybrid power relocation, cab mount chop, and a washer tank relocation that we fabricated in house. Then we took it wheeling with ZERO armor. No sliders, no skids, no front or rear bumper protection. The goal was simple... Show how much ground clearance matters and just how much clearance you gain when you put portal axles under a new Land Cruiser. This video breaks down the full build list and the labor involved from start to finish. You will see before and after trail clips, articulation, portal ground clearance examples, and a bunch of b-roll of the build while we had it in our Toyota off-road shop. This LC250 is built to be a real dealership demo rig and it absolutely performs like a champ on the rocks. The mods on this Toyota Land Cruiser Build include: • 74Weld portal axles • King 2.5 coilovers and rear shocks • Method Race Wheels and 38 inch Nitto Trail Grapplers • ARB front locker with ARB twin compressor • Total Chaos rear links and cam tab gussets • Hybrid power relocation and washer tank relocate • Cab mount chop and trimming to clear 38s If you are considering a Land Cruiser 250 build or want to talk portals for your Toyota, visit us at mountainyotas.com.
