BANGKOK New Years 2022 Countdown | RIVER CRUISE + ICONSIAM + FIREWORKS, Thailand For New Year's Eve 2022 we wanted to do something a little different while also witnessing the fireworks in Bangkok, so we booked a river cruise for two on the Smile Riverside cruise boat. We embarked on our 3-4 hour voyage from the pier at ICONSIAM where we were elegantly taken up and down the iconic Chao Phraya river passing by monuments such as Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), and the Riverfront open-air mall Asiatique. With our ticket, we were able to enjoy an international buffet with a free glass of wine included, vibe to live performers singing songs from the 1970s in a combination of Thai and English, and, of course, watch the much awaited 2022 countdown. I would strongly recommend that you book your table on the upper deck with a window seat for an uncompromised view. Tickets for 2 cost us 4,000THB ($130).
