The Art of José Clemente Orozco
Learn how communist China, modern science, old friendships, steel wrenches and ripe avocados all mash together in my crazy brain in this Go!Mobile video about artist José Clemente Orozco. Painter José Clemente Orozco was a leader of Mexican muralist movement of the early 20th century. I was introduced to his art while visiting his home city of Guadalajara in late 2018, and briefly mentioned him in another Go!M video of my bike tour of Guadalajara. I promised to follow-up. Promise kept! This Go!M video tells you a bit more about Orozco, a contemporary of Diego River and Frida Kalho, and highlights my interpretation of his mural “The People and Their False Leaders.” It may sound crazy, but sometimes weird things come together in the most wonderful of ways...like pineapple and pizza.
