TaylorMade QiD4 Fairway wood review

They have also improved the cut-through Speed Pocket™ which helps protect ball speeds while reducing spin on low-face strikes. The Twist Face™ technology utilises corrective face curvature for tightening dispersion on mis-hit shots. The Qi4D fairway wood utilises a steel face and body and a carbon fibre crown. It also incorporates the TAS weights which allows both fitters and golfers easy adjustability to dial in their spin and shot shape. This works with the 4° loft sleeve for more customisation of loft, lie angle and face angle. This is all topped off with the REAX™ line of fairway wood shafts, which I explained in the last issue when testing the QiD4 Driver; you can read about it on this link Conclusion I went for a fitting of the QiD4 at American Golf and had a great morning with Shaun going over the different models and shafts, while also comparing it to my current 3-wood. What I would say is that my current 3-wood is 10 years old so I knew it would beat it in distance and I wasn’t wrong; I gained over 20 yards. What did surprise me was that I got an even better dispersion rate, and to be honest I am pretty straight with my current 3-wood which is why I never changed it. But to not only gain distance, but also get a better dispersion rate, I was definitely impressed. I also loved the way the clubhead sat behind the ball and of course that unique TaylorMade sound at impact. After testing on eight golf courses on the RTJ Golf Trail in Alabama, the QiD4 is now in my bag to stay and I highly recommend you also put it on your testing list if you’re in the market for a new 3-wood.
