This can cause one side to snap without the other, resulting in a half-strength snap, or some slice-able turns not snapping at all. While in cubeshape however, the corners and edges are distributed evenly, meaning it will snap evenly, despite there being less magnets than standard. One thing to note is that because of how the magnets are oriented, the square-1 will only "snap" on slice-able turns during cubeshape, which may be the reason YJ opted for this configuration, but in my opinion, I still stand with the standard array.
