I climbed Nishi-Azumayama, the highest peak of Mount Azuma, one of the 100 famous mountains of Tohoku. Many people take the easy route up by taking the Panorama Gondola lift on the south side or the Tengendai Kogen Ski Resort on the north side, then the ropeway and lift, but this time I climbed on foot from Shirabu Pass, which is considered a less popular spot.
