On May 29, 1925, three men set up camp in Mato Grosso and disappeared forever. The leader was British Colonel Percy Fawcett, and he was searching for a lost city in the Amazon that he simply called "Z". With him were his son, Jack, and his friend Raleigh Rimell. The last clue is a letter sent from Dead Horse Camp. After that: silence. It is estimated that dozens of people died trying to find them — and the mystery only grew. For decades, Fawcett was treated as a delusional dreamer, a man who died searching for a city that never existed. Until archaeology turned the tables. In the Upper Xingu, archaeologist Michael Heckenberger, together with the Kuikuro people, revealed more than 20 ancient interconnected settlements, with plazas, roads, and gardens — a low-density urbanism that flourished around 1250 AD around Kuhikugu.
