ROONS! A new marble computer
roons is a new Kickstarter project by Whomtech (Jesse Locke). It is a marble-based Turing complete model for computation with a finger-driven gear mechanism for power, and algorithms encoded using magnetic tiles arranged in a grid. I requested and received a complimentary review kit from Whomtech, but they didn't tell me what to say or do with it. My kit is a 3D-printed prototype, which doesn't work perfectly. If the Kickstarter is successful, they will be made using injection molding which will hopefully be much more reliable. Roons on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
