Criminal law: TARGETjobs Law National Pupillage Fair talks programme 2014

Speakers: Stephen Vullo (2 Bedford Row), Di Middleton (Garden Court Chambers) Speaking candidly about the difficulty of entering the criminal bar in the current climate, the panel hammered home the need for aspiring barristers to perfect their advocacy skills and spend as much time in court as they can before applying to a criminal set. Both agree that it's far from being a disadvantage to enter the criminal bar later on in life and it is an enjoyable job, but crime can be tough and potential pupils need to manage their expectations.
