Byker Grove: The Rise and (Hilarious) Fall of Donna Bell

Byker Grove Series 2 picks up where Series 1 left off: teenagers, drama, and Newcastle. But this time there's a heavy focus on one particular character, and that's Donna Bell. In this video I cover episodes 1 to 6 of Byker Grove Series 2, in which Donna Bell spends approximately 90% of her screen time lying to, manipulating, and generally making life considerably worse for everyone around her. She is a whirlwind of deceit, and by Episode 6 that whirlwind spins off into the Ocean and becomes a big sad crying mess. Beyond Donna's spectacular self-destruction, Series 2 also continues the stories of the wider Grove cast, and true to Byker Grove's established habit of being considerably darker than it has any right to be, things don't go smoothly for most of them either. Also, PJ out of Ant and Dec has finally turned up. Byker Grove originally aired on BBC One from 1989 to 2006 and remains one of the most underrated children's dramas British television ever produced. This covers Series 2 episodes 1-6.
