To increase your productivity, you have to create your own schedule and find your 2 or 3 peak hours. For example: I can't focus well during the afternoon and evening – I prefer to relax. Peak hours are great when combined with your energy levels! Your energy levels can vary depending on the day of the week, and this can affect your productivity. Mental distractions are thoughts that pop into your head that are not related to your goal. If you notice these types of distractions coming up, stop and ask yourself: what is my focus right now? This will help you stop thinking about other things. If your task can be done in just 2 minutes, do it right away! This productivity rule (also known as the Pareto Principle) is surprising but true – only 20 percent of what you do gives you 80 percent of the final results. Whenever you want to organize a meeting, ask yourself one simple question: if you order just 2 pizzas, will they be enough to feed everyone in the meeting? If you need more than 2, it means that the number of people in your meeting is too large for it to be productive. Learn to say ‘no’ to all the attractive and ‘shiny’ things that keep saying “Look at me”, begging for your attention, but that only serve to distract you and waste your time.
