Lady Gregory's Diaspora by Sr. de Lourdes Fahy

The first in a series of online lectures celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Kiltartan Gregory Museum, this lecture is presented by Sr. de Lourdes Fahy, a founding member of the museum, and author of the book on the history of Kiltartan: Many Leaves, One Root. In the lecture, Sr. de Lourdes discusses the diaspora who left Coole and the Gort area in the early 19th century, a lecture first given in relation to Ireland Reaching Out project in September 2011. Recently, Sr. de Lourdes said: When I retired I had more time for historical research, and then came Ireland Reaching out in 2010…eventually the Week of Welcomes was established in 2011, and since that time, Ireland Reaching Out has reached every corner of Ireland...I became interested in the diaspora and Lady Gregory because so many people emigrated. "Lady Gregory’s Diaspora "is available for viewing here, and while it is free to view, donations for the maintenance of the Kiltartan Gregory Museum are very welcome. We hope you enjoy the lecture.
