Setting off from Gartcosh North Lanarkshire

We start off on Gartloch Road, heading eastbound then northbound on Lochend Road through Gartcosh. From the roundabout we then join Auldyards Road then we join the M73 southbound carriageway. This is a relatively short motor that links the M80 with the M74. Almost immediately we're surrounded by the urban landscape of North Lanarkshire, with views across Glasgow's eastern outskirts and the busy motorway network that connects Scotland's Central Belt. After a few miles we merge onto the M74, following the signs for Glasgow. This section heads west towards the city, passing through the southern side of the Greater Glasgow motorway network. Looking north, you'll catch glimpses of the Glasgow skyline, while ahead the motorway curves gently through the urban landscape. As we approach Junction 4, we leave the M74 and join the M77 southbound. Almost immediately the scenery begins to change as Glasgow gives way to the suburbs of East Renfrewshire before opening out into the countryside of Ayrshire.
