Replicating Ralph McQuarrie Concept Art for Battlestar Galactica (1978) with Acrylic Gouache

Another Ralph McQuarrie piece… This time from Battlestor Galactica (1978) NOT Star Wars which is what I thought it was from, so throughout this whole video I make references to Star Wars and the pilot's x-wing fighter (EMBARRASSING) but all of the instructional commentary about painting is still relevant so I decided to leave it as is. I really loved the painterly, impressionistic process this one put me through haha. I was a little anxious about this one but, in the end, I was super stoked with how it turned out…. despite the floppy wing. Ralph McQuarrie was an incredible concept artist who played a huge part in why Battlestar Galactica looked the way it did. Are there any artist’s you’d like me to replicate?
