Bravo hops go far beyond bitterness: despite being created for high efficiency, they surprise with an intense aromatic profile, full of citrus, sweet fruit, and tropical notes thanks to the presence of oils like geraniol and linalool — reminiscent of classics like Simcoe and Amarillo, but at a much more accessible cost. In this video, I put this to the test with a simple recipe loaded with 150g of Bravo, including dry hopping from day one to maximize biotransformation and extract maximum aroma and flavor; the result is a light, extremely aromatic beer full of personality, showing that Bravo is an excellent choice for both single hops and combinations with other hops in styles like IPA, NEIPA, and Session IPA.
